Description

T. Francis Fritz Handwritten Letter

Written on MAHATMA Magazine Stationery, dated October 11, 1902

While I have had my share of Mahatma's material to offer, I'VE NEVER had a handwritten letter, by one of the editors on Mahatma Stationery.

Mr. Fritz Has Written:

H. Schullerman

Dear Sir

Can supply you with 50

back issues of Mahatma at 10cents each.

Why not run over to see

me. Will be at home all day

Sunday, also in the evening.

My home is but two doors

from Howard Ave (805 Halsey St.)

Your very sincerely

T. Francis Fritz

Stationery shows the Mahatma magazine mask

-and-

red seal for the Society Of American Magicians, New York.

A unique piece of magic history, indeed!!

Letter is a fixed on what appears to have been the back cover of something.

Perhaps a Mahatma binder, which I've NEVER seen.

Goodness, goodness, goodness - 50 back issues, from the editor, in 1902.

Wonder how many Volume 1, #1 issues he still had to offer at 10cents each?!!

And, for those of you who didn't already know, T.(Theodore) Francis Fritz is the real name of Frank Ducrot (known as 'Duke' to his friends). He bought the Martinka magic shop in 1921 from Houdini, and later sold it to Al Flosso.

BINDING CONTRACT:  By placing a bid on this item you are making a legally binding contract between you and the seller. Once you place a bid on this listing, it may not be retracted. In most states it is illegal to win an auction and not pay for it. In other words, if you don't want to pay for it, don't bid on it!
PROXY BIDDING FOR ALL BIDS:  Please bid the maximum amount you are willing to pay for this item. Your maximum amount will be kept secret. Magic Castle Auctions will bid on your behalf as necessary by increasing your bid by the current bid increment up until your maximum is reached. DETAILS FOR THE SELLER AND THE WINNER:

  • The sellers contact information and the winners contact information will not be disclosed until the seller has paid any auction fees due.

  • The winner must pay the seller directly for the item and the seller must fulfill the winners order when payment terms are met.
  • Leave feedback for the other party once the seller has received the payment and the winner has received the merchandise.

If the seller is unable to establish contact with the winner within 3 business days of the end of the auction, she/he may lose the place as the winner and be at risk for receiving negative feedback and/or a Non-Paying Bidder Alert, both of which can ultimately lead to your accounts suspension and or termination with Magic Castle Auctions. (Note: Once negative feedback is left, it can not, and will not, be removed!)
