Our curtains have been designed SPECIFICALLY for Magicians and Traveling performers. These curtains have been made with over 15 years of experience of doing shows "on site" as a traveling magician myself.
CURTAIN SPECS:
* Custom Made of a SPECIALLY DESIGNED fabric that is engineered to block out 99.9% of light! -This fabric is so easy to care for you almost NEVER have to wash it! Unlike some other curtains I've seen that are made of a velour or velvet fabric that MUST BE DRY CLEANED! These curtains have been designed with the traveling magician in mind. I'VE BEEN THERE FOLKS! I KNOW WHAT DOING SHOWS IN PEOPLE'S HOMES OR IN A PARTY HALL OR IN SOMEONE'S BACK YARD is like. My concern was not to only have great looking curtains, but curtains that would be easy to maintain and easy to clean. I wanted my curtains to look good after being stored and more than likely stuffed in a box before setting it up." Fabric like velour and velvet, if not well kept, will eventually look crushed and matted. Our fabric is both easy to care for and keeps looking good after many years of use.
* Double Reinforced Stitches - Each corner and hem is reinforced with double stitching to make sure it is durable and will last a lifetime with proper care.
* Special Light Blocking fabric - One of the things that I found was MOST IMPORTANT, at least to me, was that NO ONE could see what I was doing behind my curtain. Most Magicians don't want their audience seeing what they are doing "behind stage." This was a big issue for me since most fabrics that I used still allowed light to penetrate through the curtains and would show the magician's shadow through the curtain. I use my curtain not only for a background but most importantly for secrecy. The last thing I want is for people to be able to see what I'm doing behind my curtain. After trying many different fabrics we finally found two fabulous fabrics specifically engineered to block out light!
Construction - The curtains are made in 3 panels, each measuring approximately 6.5 feet tall and 4.5 feet wide. This curtain is designed especially to be used with our Duo Tripod Stand system. A large 4 inch hem pocket is used for hanging the curtain rather than using very difficult and hard to hang curtain rings that we've seen used on other similar curtains.
Easy to Care for, these curtains can be thrown into the washing machine unlike other fabrics like velour or velvet which have to be taken to the dry cleaners for a very nice size cleaning bill.

NOTE:
Just because something "seems" to be the same or "looks" the same doesn't mean that it IS the same. I just had someone ask me what the difference was between my system and another "cheaper" system he saw. Upon looking at the other system at first glance it looked very similar. But after a closer look I saw MANY differences in how it was made compared to mine. First of all it weighed 6 pounds MORE and was rated at the same maximum weight (30lbs load). Now, if I'm going to be carrying something around I'm going to want it to be as light as possible but still be as strong and sturdy. Lighter aluminum that is still very strong is more expensive. Then I noticed that the cross bar (of the other system) was NOT black like the tripod stands. It was just bare metal and had PLASTIC end caps rather than the aluminum machined ends that mine have (SEE PICS BELOW). The end caps take the MOST PUNISHMENT and should NEVER be made of plastic. Also, the finish on the tripods did not look anodized and at best a cheaper coating process. The hardware was more "primitive" using cheaper clamps "c-clamp style", bare metal tighteners, instead of quality molded thumb tighteners like the ones on my system. I must say the part that I was most dissatisfied with was that the legs and extender bars were fastened with SCREWS and NUTS rather than a more SECURE and more professionally made system with RIVETED parts (like mine). Screws loosen after time and if a nut falls off and you don't have a replacement, you're up the creek if you're at a PAYING GIG and don't have time to run to the local hardware store.
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!
Again, just because something LOOKS the same doesn't make it the same. Although at first glance they may APPEAR alike, a more detailed look will surely show you the obvious differences between a cheaply made and QUALITY MADE product. Personally, I would rather spend more for something of GOOD quality rather than get something of cheaper quality that may cause me problems in the future, and just cost more money and headaches in the long run.
